Ronny Bujok was a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics [MPI], Nijmegen, The Netherlands. His supervisors were Prof. Antje S. Meyer and Dr. Hans Rutger Bosker. His project investigated how simple up-and-down hand gestures (‘beat gestures’) influence low-level speech perception. After his PhD, he took up a postdoc position with Dr. Lieke van Maastricht at the Centre for Language Studies, Radboud University, Nijmegen.

Ronny’s PhD defense took place on November 5, 2025. His thesis title is: “When the beat drops: How beat gesture alignment with speech affects word recognition”. Read it here!
