Ronny Bujok was a PhD student at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics [MPI], Nijmegen, The Netherlands. His supervisors were Prof. Antje S. Meyer and Dr. Hans Rutger Bosker. His project investigated how simple up-and-down hand gestures (‘beat gestures’) influence low-level speech perception. After his PhD, he took up a postdoc position with Dr. Lieke van Maastricht at the Centre for Language Studies, Radboud University, Nijmegen.

Ronny’s PhD defense is planned to take place on November 5, 2025. His thesis title is: “When the beat drops: How beat gesture alignment with speech affects word recognition”
